The correct way is to remove the bumper and then remove the speed nuts holding the grille on but most folks just grab and pull, HARD. More than likely your just not pulling hard enough. The ends should pop out pretty easily but the center can be a real bitch. If I had it to do over I would just take the bumper off. I thought I might have damaged my paint I had to pull so hard.

Work from outside to inside and it'll go with ease.

Pull the outter 2 tabs first, being those are insanely easy.

Then move to the bottom. Pull on each corner untill you pop the outter stud then pull directly on the middle (you might not have to being you'll pop it out by doing the outter tabs)

Then move up top. I put one hand on the bumper, and pulled on the grille (not applying too much pressure to the bumper itself). Pull each outter stud again, then move on to the middile which I find to be one of the most stubborn ones.

You'll hear some popping as the retainers get broken, but as long as you arent hearing a really loud crack you're doing fine. If you want, get a buddy to assist you and watch for excessive deformation so you arent ripping the piece out thru the grille.

SLP suggests removing the bumper to install their grill. You will need to drill holes in the bumper to accept the SLP friction fasteners. Unless you have a right angle drill you really need to remove the bumper to do it right and if you have to remove it anyway you might as well take the old grill off by removing the speed nuts once the bumper is removed. I read that some guys were putting the new grill on with double sided tape but that is an expensive grill to have pop off on the highway. I did mine without removing the bumper but I had a right angle drill.

I put my SLP grille on without removing the bumper. Right angle drill does help.
