Yea, leather.

The cloth back seat cover is just to hide my stereo stuff, I couldn't find a nice leather cover at the junkyard.



I'm redoing all the stereo stuff so I may put the original leather seat back in.

That's a cool idea there!!!!

I really hate that crappy million shades of gray interior both yours and my car are afflicted with. The solid black looks a lot better, but I think you can make something nice with the gray.

I guess I really need to get to a upholstery shop and see what can be done.

Overall, changing a few panels a few shades of gray does seem to have a pretty big effect. I like it.

Then I'd add an aluminum or silver panel where your AC controls are and an aluminum or silver shift **** to give a little touch of shiney inside.

That's number 5.

A/C controls are going to be relocated. 10.4" touch screen LCD is going in that spot. Shift **** is a well aged pool cue. It's my favorite, so it's staying.

OK, I think I've decided on number 4 or 5 which is a slightly lighter shade of gray Like Louie83 is showing.

It only seems fitting to change out something on the seat as well. I was thinking the inserts, but I couldn't use suede there as I need to be able to slide my butt around.

So what about the panel right below the headrest? I could do that in suede which means I could now do the door panels in suede.

I could also lighten the leg piece if I wanted too, but I'm not sure. The great thing about doing this upper seat piece is that it is at the same level as the door panels so they flow together better. Plus I have an idea for a custom logo which could also be added in the middle of the panel.

So I could have the shop cut out the new lighter upper seat panel oversized, have the logo done there or send it out to be done and then have the shop swap the panels out.

What do you guys think?

Id say go ebony. Brighter colors just seem to "flashy" for me. I like subtleties

I've pretty much made up my mind on the color, but what kind of ebony are you talking about?

We obviously have different ideas about what is flashy.

with that color of interior... you definitely want to stay away from any brown hues... I would do the another shade or gray or maybe a silver and then tweak the outside to match a little better.

Does anyone know where I might get some houndstooth type material to do some inserts with?

The inside inserts will be that lighter shade of gray, kind of a soft dove color, but the outside will not be matched to the interior. The outside is black and will be true fired along the hood and a few other places. Maybe the traditional yellow, orange, red combo or maybe some solid red or blue tinted fire. I don't want any of those colors in the interior, though.
