C5 mirrors on a TA?

I went ahead and PMed Shane - in the meantime does anyone have an idea as far as whats involved in installing these mirrors? Do the mirrors mound directly to the door panels or is a backing plate required...? Does the wiring hook up (assuming they're power)? What is used to cover the spot where the factory mirrors used to be?

Yea I asked him several months back an this is what he told me to basically do to make them work..
I had to drill through the door and mount them to a custom made bracket inside the door skin. Then, a custom metal piece was fabricated to cover the original mounting spot - with studs welded on the back to bolt it in place. The Y-body wiring was spliced into an f-body harness so it could connect to the control wires inside the door.

A camaro wouldn't work at all. If you look at the fender it's got a huge bulge into it that runs into the mirror. With a different mirror it would be very awkward looking.
