Actually, only Firebird's with the optional Monsoon system got the door cupholders. The cup holder is built into the speaker cover. And only 90-92 3rdgen models got the door cupholders, pre-90 didn't.

And my center cupholder works great for me, then again, my car is an auto.

I didn't know about the secret cup holder until I'd had my car for a year. Even then, another firebird owner had to point it out to me.

Yeah that's it, I didn't know about it til this weekend. I told my buddy to use the swing-out holder, and he said "Well there's one right here on the door too".

The swing-out one, I mean. The one on the door I didn't know about until just now.

I keep a container of wet-wipes there....fits perfectly and don't have to get out or search for them...I travel quite a bit.

The center console cup holder on M6 cars is f'in worthless! Its like the 10bolt rearend for the interior! lol I always take the sliding out cupholder and make the other people hold theirs cause I dont want cold things sitting against my pleather door panels with all the condensation that comes off lol

I hardly use the slider holder, I use the center, but then again, my car doesnt have a clutch pedal
