Any color is legal as long as you don't have them on while driving. If you only use them at shows I see nothing wrong with them. In fact I used to have red underbody LED's on my Black WS6 - got nothing but compliments (and from F-bod owners too).
In my area there are litterly hundreds of Street Rods and musclecars that use them - only at shows after dark - I wouldn't call them rice - just my opinion.
Just like it's my opinion that to use spray paint to paint select plastic interior panels as so many do - is MASSIVELY GAY
and looks like
I'm not interested in any gawdy, cheap cosmetic upgrades for my car
So rock on, do what you want to your own car, no need to ask for/or need anyone's acceptance...

I think what color lights you can get away with all depends on how picky the law enforcement in your area is.
I have been running RED DRL's for well over a month now, with absolutley no problems. And actually, on the way to work about 1 week ago, I stopped at my usual gas station to get coffee and a cop was coming out when I pulled up. We chit chatted for a minute and he mad the comment that the RED DRL's look great on my black WS6, then proceeded to ask me where I got them. He mentioned that he had a 2001 T/A and would like to have them himself. Real cool guy that had better **** to do than worry about the color of my lights.
So although I think the color was officially "illegal", it just depends if cops wants to be ****** or not.
Here are a couple of pics with the red DRL's. They look much better and wicked
in person.
If you like it, do it. Just be ready to pay the consequences if pulled over for it.

Either way the nostrils and the DRLs look awesome!

well, i dont like underbody neons too much... although red does look less ricey than blue....
if its to accent a sound system i think its fine... im getting my gauge lights replaced with red LED's, so i might get some under the dash.

If the question is, "are underbody lights rice?"
The answer is YES.
Also they are illeagal in any color, anytime, on the road.
ie. parking lot use only.
Even then, I have enough trouble getting pulled over already.
I don't need to give the cops any help/excuses.
And given that most LS1 guys (ehem.. and gals) are probably the least likely to support any form of rice you probably guessed what your response was going to be.
And just cuz "street rod" guys who would rather polish some billet bullshit than spend time dialing in their timing use them, doesn't mean that it's something to be emulated.
The reason I dig this board so much is because it seems one of the few automotive sites where the majority of posters are kindred souls. In other words most people here on Ls1 TECH rarely condone spending any time or money on crap that doesn't make your car go faster.
Spend the cash on a case of mobil 1 and a new K&N

If YOU like neons then YOU should get neons and not worry about what WE think. ![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Your ride, your taste, your call.
Personally, I think it could look good if done tastefully. But again, its not about what I think. All on you. Good luck.

I actually still have a set still installed on my T/A - use them rarely. But as you can see by the numbers in my sig I did quite a bit of go fast mods also.
I'd be more than happy to run ya - with the underbody lights on
