I believe air bags are only designed to deploy when hit in the front of the car. They do not deploy when hit from the rear. I think getting hit anywhere in the front third of the car will deploy the air bags.

Sorry about your car man. At least your OK. Sheet metal and SMC can be replaced that is why we have insurance. Good luck picking out your new ride. At least that part can be fun.

wow. glad you are ok. (well, pretty much anyway)

I can't help but notice that the car seems to have stopped 'crumpling' right where the subframe connectors mount in the rear. i would have to guess that those things helped keep the passenger compartment safe. more lateral steel is a good thing sometimes.

Oh some rubbing compound will take that right off

On a serious note, that sucks man. It's pisses me off when getting in a accident that completely wasn't your fault. Hope you get a nicer T/A to replace this one.

Yeah.... front AB sensors need to feel the love before they will actuate the bags.
Also.....front air bags will not deploy if the wheels are not turning.
Get hit head on at a stop and you better be strapped in tight.

Sucks large about the car.

On the job thing.... maybe show proof of no lost time and productivity to your State Labor board and an attorney?

Sue for added mental/emotional/financial distress do to the unjustified termination.....
