Default Progress on my paint/body overhaul on my SS.... *PICS*

I flew home to spend Father's Day with my son, so he and I decided to drop in to check on the status of the Mongoose. For those who don't recall, this is after a complete body/paint overhaul. They had the doors, fenders, hood, bumper covers, rear window, and windshield, etc all off at my request, so there would be no paint seams. Then they added the black accents you'll see in the pictures, and removed the side molding.

Here is what we saw when we walked in to the shop. Even in her unfinished state, she made my knee's go weak!

The car also has new headlight/taillight/foglight capsules. I'm ordering my clear corners in a few minutes for it. I will be ordering the grill I"m going with in a few minutes as well. The car has not been cleaned up yet. They've sprayed it, cleared it, but have yet to polish/buff it out. Still have more to do, and they certainly weren't expecting me, and I was totally impressed. Clearly the SS emblem's will go back on once they're completely done with the paint.

I'm totally stoked with the progress, and how she's looking!

Tom

What's this costing you? Did they paint all the door jambs, engine bay, underneath any?

ZERO paint seams anywhere. They had the fenders, doors, hood, bumper covers, windshield, back glass, etc, etc out.

Cost....:dunno: I told them I didn't care what it cost me. They have no time constraints, as I don't want to rush them, and they have no limits.

he should paint it like tony had his grill on the HOSS, i think it was a painted slp grille - that would look amazing and still retain the paint scheme

UPDATE:

The grill and clear corners showed up. The grill is being painted right now, and then they will all be installed. I ordered the clear lenses for the sides of the rear bumper as well, to see how they look. Hopefully the weather back home will clear up when my mother and a buddy of mine take her to the storage unit, so they can get some good pictures of her!

Stay tuned!
