Default Tint? Need some pics b4 I buy =(

Search function not workin too well

My next mod is to get my 99fb tinted to at least 20-30%?

I hear the law is sorta strict here in NY but I just wanted to see the differences between %s. Can anyone w/ any tint put up some pics? (specify what %tint you have tho)

Thanks

Not NY here, but I think most states probably have the tint limit somewhere around 35% (guessing an average). Here is pics of my tint below. 2% all the way around, plus the front strip.

Hope this helps

Limo on the doors and double limo on the rear window.
Sorry for the huge pic I'll resize it.

yea, i was gonna do 20% on the back...so I can see cars behind me, signs of life... and then 35% on the sides because well, its illegal to have any tint on your side windows. a cop told me it's not allowed in any state. No % is allowed on the side windows. So, i was gonna do 35% anywayz haha, cause u can still see out of it, cause u want to be able to see left/right well pulling out of streets..be smart with the %. If it's a show car, then go really dark. Everyday driver, make sure you can see out of it..

Its not illegal to tint fronts in all states. Here in Nv you can buy brand new cars with the fronts/all windows already tinted. There is a legal darkness and some cops have light detectors they put up against the glass to see if it's legal. They never pull any one over for having dark tint unless the person is being an ***.

This is the laws for Nevada.

"Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window Any darkness can be used. "

So you could paint the back windows black if you wanted.

35% all the way around on the TA, 35% on the sides, 20% on the back of the C5.

I have had everything from limo to 50% on my sides.. go as dark as you think you can get away with, but at this point, I just stay legal, because taking time off for court, especially a BS tint ticket, is just not worth it.

Also, check your laws .. make you sure you know whether the law is written for % tint allowed, or % light passage. if it is 35% light passage, 35% tint is not legal, since the windows by themselves block some light.

Can any of you guys with the 5% see out at night?? Just curious, because i have to re-tint my windows, and i thought about doing 15% all the way around...but on the other hand i might do 5%. Im just worried about not see out at night...and also I dont want to keep getting pulled over by damn cops for having my windows too dark! do they pay attention to it that much?? Im in NC btw..

EDIT: I think i might custom make a window track thingy....to hold two windows instead of just one, and have two switches...one for the 5% Black window, and one for the 35% one! Damn, i wish i could really do that.

Wow predator and gipraw, gotta say your cars look elite

Kman, your 35% looks real dark for some reason it might be cause those pics are sorta at night

In ny you can only have 35% on the REAR sidewindow, and none on the front side, so its gonna be illegal anyway. Rear window you can have any though, but I just wanna make sure, would say 15% on the back be safe? lol Im sure during like the day you can see fine out but I use my rearview mirror a lot, would I be able to see at night?

From those pics, 35% looks pretty dark. I was originally gonna get like 20% cause im a fan of black, but that might be a little conspicuous.

Here are some other pics I found...

In the shade...

The digi cam makes it look A LOT darker than it actually is. And no, my car doesn't sag to the right. It's the driveway.

I recommend < 35% if you're not concerned with tickets. I got 35% sides and 20% rear to avoid trouble with the Smokies, and it's not bad at all. It's not dark enough, though..!
