Trying to clean my engine bay. . . Lil help

Hey guys my engine bay is a little dirty and I wanted to know the best way to clean it. I've heard some people say to go to a manual car wash and hose it down with the pressure sprayer but I've also heard that this could be bad for the engine block, alternator, and spark plugs. If any of you guys have suggestions or good ways to clean the engine bay I would love to hear them.

Soak it with simple green, close the hood. Wash car, once your done washing the car, open the hood and pour bucket of soapy water onto engine bay, close hood, dry car, drive car up and down the road to blow out any water in the cracks, come back dry car again, open hood and wipe whats not dry dry, and use armorall or tire foam on plastic peices.

Like spuds said. Simple green the engine, let it soak, spray it off (covering the PCM and MAF with a trashbag). Let it dry, when fully dry spray CD2 engine detailer on it. Voila.

just dependeding on how dirty it is just spray it down with the Gunk engine cleaner/detailer. that **** works great!

lol, I sneeze in my engine bay and it wont start for a week lol..

No I do that on other cars, namly lsx vehicles that I've washed/detailed for coin.

I tried that engine brite foamy **** and hated it, scared my valve covers too, now I haev a haze on them that I can't buff off, I need to remove them and polish em anyways...
