what to use to treat outside plastic?
I use the Zaino Z-16 Tire Gloss to restore mine about once a year. Then ya always have to clean the glass afterwards also, ..., but this step is one ya wanna do before the glass or even the polish/wax step anyway.
There are other products like 'Back-to-Black', etc., that also work.

There is a product that A LOT of members recommend here. I've got it sitting in the garage, it's in a green spray bottle, just can't remember the name.

Same kind of stuff. Tire shine holds up a little better than normal protectants like NXT or Armor all.
I use tire wet. You want something fairly thick.
Regardless of what you use you'll have to do it with about the same frequency as your tires. I haven't found anything that can last through a few rainfalls or more than a few weeks.
