Well, I definently got the "well over" part right. It put out 435 hp at 6k rpm. I definantly remember it spinning over 7k though.

No doubt. I saw this car in 2001 at the F-Body 35th B-Day Bash at the Corvette Museum which was just a few months after I got my SS. I didn't get to go for a ride but I did meet Settlemire and got to hear him fire that beast up and saw him do a burnout in it. Freakin' Awesome. The 302 and the Intimidator SS (which I also saw that weekend) is what inspired my appearance mods.
