sprayed the black magic cleaner on, let it set for 20 minutes or so then hosed it off spraying everything towards the firewall making sure not to get the opti wet. Wiped it off. Sprayed armorall on it and started it up to let it burn off any excess water

Haha believe me man I was chicken too. I just stuffed some rags over top of the opti and put my adjustable nozzel on my hose to mist and sprayed everything towards the firewall. Then i just started it and wiped everything down while it was runnin. O and i put my new trick flow elbow on today so it looks even better now!!!

I found the best way to clean up the intake manifold on the lt1 was to remove the entire engine and put an ls1 in its place
haha just kidding but really just spray it with wd-40 and scrub it with a small wire brush and then take a flat block with like 600 grit wet paper and run it up and down the top of the intake, then hit it with 1000 and then some blue magic polish,it will look killer.
