Default Paint question

About how much do you think it would cost to have a front bumper repainted, hood repainted and manta stripe put on, spoiler removed and repainted and manta stripe put on it and trunk manta stripe and black berger same color as manta? Just wondering what to expect if anyone has rough estimates. I gotta take the car around and see what people say when they know what i got planned.

Don't take it to maaco. I would expect around $500. But I'm no painter. You usually get what you pay for. I would ask what kind of paint they use. Urethane is the best. For the bumper cover I would try to get a flex agent added in with the paint. That will help make the pant a little more flexible. That will help prevent cracks later. I would take it to a dealership and get an estimate. then talk to the painter and ask if he would be able to do it on the side. most dealership painters can and will. From my experiences anyway. It still gets done right and in a timely manner.

Taking the parts off the car will save you alot of money. Most of what you pay is for the prep. As a side job I would take any less than $1000 for that. But then again Im no maaco. PPG paint, cut and buffed.

Okay, I just had the very same thing done to my car. I had the Manta and Deck stripe, all the way around the spoiler, taillight panel had paint "repaired", not completely refinished, and both front and rear bumpers completely refinished. I had it done at a Chevy dealer's body shop (whom I trust) and paid cash on the side for the job. I paid $1100 total. The work quality is exceptional and I know it was done right. The down side of that is the wait time. Since they're doing it on the side, they have to slip it in between other jobs when time permits. Long story short… they had my car for about six weeks. If yours is not a daily driver, you should have no problem. If it is, make sure you can borrow a ride from someone for that period of time your car is in the shop. You don't want to rent a car not knowing how long you'll need it. Fortunately for me, because mine is a DD, my buddy at the body shop gave me a free loaner. But, it was worth the wait. Yea i saw your thread with your manta stripe, that looks really good. I'm not worried about down time, i'm not even going to really drive my car again until late august at this point. It is my dd but my gf has a civic i can drive when i need to so that's not a big deal either. I just want it done right and looking good. Seems like my figure of around 1500 for everything done right isn't a bad guess. I'll look into it and see what i can find by taking my car to a place and having them give me an estimate after looking at it. I'll also give the dealership idea a try and see what i can get from there.

Thanks for the help guys
