Default etched valve cover

how would you do this? this is etched, not a sticker or paint.

If i'm not mistake you just have the polished surface taped up and cut out the design you want and pull those out ("Mustang GT" removed all rest taped off still) and take a fine sand blasting to it.

It does look sand/bead blasted looking at the photo...

Caution though, make sure the masking material used is very strong. IF you use grey tape or something like that the sandblaster will fray the edges very quick and you won't have the sharp outline shown in the pictures.


I like the idea. Pretty cool looking.

You can buy liquid solutions that will give the "etch" look. Usually used in glass/plexi/lexan, I'm sure there's something like it that is used for metal. Ask at a local hardware store. If nothing else, sandblast!
