I just bought a similar set (possibly the same ones).
How did you wire them up?
I want to replace the stock fogs.
It comes with the wiring harness and a separate switch, but I want to use the stock switch.

InfiniteReality did this a while back and they looked good. Do a search for his threads or PM him.

I read his threads. He used 70watt bulbs in housings designed for 55watts and used a relay. I am asking about 55watt bulbs (in glass aftermarket housings). Do I need a relay? What can the stock wiring handle?

Gotcha. The stock wiring can certainly handle 70 watt bulbs like Infinite used, as long as it is wired properly (with a relay/inline fuse/etc). I know enough to get by but I'm by no means an expert on the subject... you may want to post up in the electronics forum if no one else can chime in with a verdict on what you can/can't run and how to wire it.

I just used the existing wiring when I did mine. I snipped the plug off, hooked the white wire to the white wire, and the black wire to the black wire. No problems, and I can use my stock switch on the inside to turn them off and on. The LED "halo" ring is a completely sepereate circuit. A seperate hot wire that runs to a switch that I mounted under the dash. All that does is turn the halo off and on.
I don't think your suppose to run the halo and the fog at the same time, anyway.

sounds easy enough. I think I will go and purchase a female end so I don't have to snip the factory wires.

You're really risking blowing some fuses if you just splice into the stock wiring, especially if u're going to be using 75 watt bulbs.

I ran my lights off the stock wiring, simply snipped a plug and connected some wires. Works pretty good!

Stock fogs are 27w, I believe.
The one from Pep Boys is 55w.
I've had no problems using the stock wires.

anyone know if they sell any connectors to plug into the factory connector so I do not have to cut any wires except for the ones for the new fog lamps? Does that make sense lol? I'm probably making things more difficult than they have to be but that would be the way I would want to do it.

When I installed mine, I used male spade connectors on the ends of the fog light wires. Just cut half the width of the spade off and it will fit into the factory connector. I wrapped it with electrical tape to keep the water out. Did the same thing to hook up my Eurolights headlights.

As everyone esle has said, there are no problems with using the factory wiring. When using a relay you can put an inline fuse on the power wire for incaseshit. I did the same thing infinitereality did but when I bought different bulbs all they had were 100W. Very bright when used with the 150W relay. All in all it is a very simple install. And makes a helluva difference when driving, you can actually see.
edit - I need to update my cardomain page.

Thats my point.

Do you need a relay when using 55 watts bulbs or can you get away with a direct plug-n-play? Looks like some have done a direct plug-n-play, but is this safe (for a few hours driving) or is this a fire waiting to happen?

The kit I bought comes with a wiring harness that has a 30 amp relay and a 15 amp fuse. Whats the stock fuse? If its a 15 amp fuse then its probably ok to skip the relay, but I dont want a fire hazard. I dont want to deal with the wiring harness in the kit unless I have to (it uses a dual momentaty switch on a circuit bard to activate the lights and ring and was desinged for cars without factory fog lights). I probably won't wire up the ring anyway. I bought these because they are the only 4.5 in round foglights that I can find with clear glass lenses (all the others where blue or yellow).
