def tint it or frost it so that the light bars dont show up so much. Have you thought about it just making it like a 4th brake light? I know you already mentioned the red lights coming on when you put the brakes on, but what if you made it a continuous on, and then it got brighter when you applied brakes?

--20Firebird02 -- I worked hard on selecting an appropriate plate down here
-- TexasReb18 -- Yes, I'm going to integrate the brakes into it, but will probabaly do the white lights while driving and then red for the 4th brake. Yes, I'm going to frost/sand the backside of the panel to diffuse it more.
-- Phoenix5.7 -- I actually drove it last night about 1 mile and oddly enough, passed 3 cops!!! Luckily all were going other direction and none had rearview mirrors! Was paranoid about it. Will be switching from blue to white probably this week.
Thank you ALL for the positive comments and suggestions. I've even received 3 PMs about making the panel for other people. Not sure I'm up for that since I took so long on this and it is definitly a PITA!!!

You REALLY want to call something the "Duff" don't you
Sorry, just like the partial Whistler headlights this has been done before also
Looks great though! I'd be too weary of chopping up my car though .
There was a sheet of electroluminescent paper before that when you applied current it lit up like a neon, but was paper. I wonder if that could make this mode a little more car friendly...
Here, I found it:

Haven't seen this mod in the year I've been on the board and it's one of the first things I searched for when signing up.
Still haven't seen it on LS1Tech, but I've seen Brents pages before (never that one) and I love the site he's got going.
I have hereby dubed this project type the 'LIT-CAMARO'.
I'm going to sand the back of the clears to diffuse more light, pull them back from the clear (I've got about 4 inches clearance most people don't have) and also switch to white neons. I thank you for the photolumenescent strip idea though! I want two colors. That color of aquablue looks like that old car (Countach) from "Automan" circa 1983.

Umm... you didn't search too hard... Brent even has a pic of it on his page:

Dude, it's cool that you did all that work and did something REALLY nice... But it's kind of lame that you feel you HAVE to name a mod after your self and REALLY LAME that you're trying to do it with a mod that someone (actually many people) did before you...
Chris (aka Whistler) was the absolute FIRST to do that to the headlights and everyone copied him from Keith's "Whistler how-to" page and it became simply known as "The Whistler Mod" because of that... not because Chris did anything to try to get a mod named after him (although the Harwood hood should be named after him but that's another story...).
Don't take away from your hardwork by trying to steal credit from others who came before you...

Nope, Demon, you're right. I never saw that one on the LS1Tech. It is obvilously older than mine. Don't call mine the 'Duff' anymore. I stand corrected.

Someone PM'd me and asked about the plastics. . .
The company that makes the two-part plastic is "VersaChem"
Two parts mix with syringe plungers and through an exothermic reaction. . .new plastic!
Deleted the PM. Hope this helps!

Cool mod, I remember either making a thread asking about this or posting in a thread about this AGES ago, never got any helpful replies. Nice of you to help out others interested in this mod.
