I'd go the carbon fiber route, but I'd do it just a little bit differently. First, start with this:
It's called "Hexcel Texalium." When light hits it from certain angles, you get little twinkles. Then I'd clearcoat it with this:

...and maybe mask off a pinstripe border around the edges of certain parts to have just a hint of silver still showing up. This way, you could have however much silver you wanted and the effect of carbon fiber all happening at the same time.

I used some carbon fibre overlay when I did the radio/ac delete, I think it matched pretty well with the interior. Then the seats are a kevlar braid.
I would like to add more carbon fibre but it is one of those things you have to be careful with, too much just doesn'tt look right.
