Off topic again, and I apologize, but is that the 3" rise, and how's the fitment? I have an SLP UltraZ and I like it, but there's about a 2" gap between the front portion of the hood and the nose of the car. It really annoys me.

Your hood may just need to be fitted better... Sometimes you have to extend the hole in the backets...

Not sure the height of the hood but it's the only height the offer. Fits great!

I hear you, but extending the holes just means the fitment near the windshield gets worse, if you follow me. We compromised so that it doesn't fit either way, but sort of in between the two.

I did a lot of research before I bought this hood, and I was aware of the fitment issues, but a lot of guys had no problems at all. So it was a crapshoot, and I lost.

I'm gettin ready to have my car painted, so this would be the time to change the hood. The guy who did the paint job estimation on my car ($2400, which is reasonable IMO), remarked on that gap. I don't know about you, but it really pisses me off when people notice a flaw in my car I thought might go unnoticed to the unpracticed eye.

Well my friend got a Sunoco hood at the same time I did and they both fit great. To be honest, I haven't read of one person having ANY fitment problem with them...

I would HIGHLY recommend getting a smooth Sunoco hood... Check out XtinctZ28's car:

http://www.fquick.com/XtinctZ28

I'm sure you could sell your Ultra-Z hood for the price it would cost you to buy a Sunoco (normally $500 but ls1tech members get 10% off EVERYDAY so the hood is $450 NORMAL PRICE, let alone if you get in on a GP)

I did check out Xtinct's car, and the hood rise is a little too extreme for me (I need a more badass car to justify that), but the 2.5" looks to be about perfect. Thanks again for the replies. Valueable input and it's appreciated.

How difficult would it be to move the hood back so the rear fits and then just extend the front edge with fiberglass? Seems pretty easy.

I thought about that. Would that really work? I'll ask the shop that's painting my car...

I thought I would wake this up. I was going to do the delete but I want to replace with all new carpet. From the pics on the first page, where do you get the carpet that isnt already cut?
