Default My CETA Mod

The car is Pewter Metallic. The CETA is Graphite. I actually bought Duplicolor Wheel Paint because it was metallic. Then I cleared over that to finish it off.

I didn't want to do the CETA until I had custom wheels. I just didn't think it would look right with the factory 16" wheels.

Thanks fellas....I actually rattle canned both the graphite and the clear. Both were Duplicolor products. I absolutely love the Duplicolor clearcoat. I goes on so easy.

i like the subtle CETA mod you did...get a CETA trans am panel (the silver trans am) between the headlights and you would be set.

How did you get the paint to finish with even color ? I used that same paint to paint wheels, and i tried to do the CETA with it , but the paint just came out darker aand lighter in some areas. I switched to flat back then.

Initially the paint laid down darker and lighter, but as I added more coats it evened out. I made a point to spray over the lighter areas and skip the darker areas on the first few coats. Then I put several layers of clearcoat over it, and that totally took care of any dull/glossy spots. The wheel paint said not to use the clearcoat over it, but I did a test first and didn't have any problems with it. I could foresee a problem with the look of it if I didn't use a clearcoat, but I didn't want a flat finish on mine.

Sorry to bring this up from the dead, but how is it holding up, any issues with the clear? I need to do this soon.
