Default Radar Mount

I dont want to ruin my headliner so I need some advice. I mount my radar detector on the passengar side visor and hold the visor up with a metal clip that wraps up around the headliner. This works okay but I want to be able to quickly bring the visor further into the cabin so the detector isnt visible to theives.

So, my idea is to use contact cement and put a strip of velcro on the headliner and visor. The velcro would only be about 2 square inches but it doesnt need to hold much weight so hopefully it will work. Ive never used contact cement and im just looking for some general advice and comments on my idea so I dont screw it up.

Thanks.

Here you can see the metal clip I use:

Dont need velcro for this part, its stays up fine. You can see the clip that holds the radar to the visor, its not the one that holds the visor to the headliner.
