Hey dont forget!!! It reads and clears PCM codes (DTCs). And the new ones have fully programmable shift lights like mentioned above.

I have the red/black display...which is reversable like in the pics above. And when it turns on...it starts up with the Pontiac logo. I dont have it hooked up yet but it shoudl be slick. As for accuracy...Ide say its about as accurate as it needs to be...since it gets its data right from the PCM.

I want to mount mine just like unstang has his... except i want to try to fit it next to my vert top switch (cutout switch).

Hey unstang. Do you have any trouble reading it from your seating position? Like the viewing angle and being able to read the labels for which fields its displaying??? My car is still on jack stands...and I havent put the console back in to see if it will be readable. Need to get that back together. Thanks

Can anyone verify that the scan gauge will not read oil pressure from the PCM?

Thanks for quick reply. You think it would since there is a oil pressure gauge already.

Yeah but the F-body PCM doesnt use oil pressure for any functions. The oil pressure sender only transmits to the gauge. I imagine there is a way to add a wire to the PCM and program it to output the oil pressure. Atleast there might be...

I have a full set of autometers that are accurate enough as it is, but I still use the scan gauge. I finally mounted it up in the dash so I can read it and push the buttons without looking down. I had it in the console by the cig lighter. Just too far down and out of the way to try to read two read outs and menus...

There is no sensor for oil temp on the LS1...and the PCM doesnt use it. So the gauge doesnt display it. However...the gauge does have two analog inputs. Im kinda dumb when it comes to adding inputs, but I wonder if a oil temp sender or oil pressure sender could be made to work with those inputs somehow...

Hey Unstang, dont you find that its kinda hard to keep an eye on and access the functions down there? Thats where I had mine for awhile, and I just couldnt see it well enough. Then again Im 6'4 so my seat is back far. Just felt like I had to reach and really look to see what was goin on.

Here is mine and I love this gauge.

I would have gotten the one with the shiftlights but that wasn't out when I purchased it.

mine is a 97. Pretty sure the only requirement is thats its an OBD-II car however I do not know if it will give you every parameter that is available. For instance, I can view timing but not knock retard.
