Badging a Z28 as an SS is pushing it.. if you do every SS mod then fine you'll get away with it and noone will know unless they investigate and if you do all the SS mods it basically is an SS just it wasnt from the factory and it has no # position among the other SS's.

Badging a Z28 or SS (fourth Gen) as a COPO, Yenko. or Berger is bullshit, you're taking the car's that many of us drool over and love for what they are (rare, peak performance, special edition cars engineered by their respective genius's) and making it just an upgrade for your car. Just another Civic that thought Type R would make other idiots drool over their car.

Berger panels are crisp, clean and not entirely proclaiming anything (such as this is a Berger car) so they fit well on any Fourth gen camaro. Custom badges are nice too (such as LS1, Chevrolet, Z06 style Z28 badges etc.)

I happen to love the retro and Z06 style Z28 badges i plan on having one Z28 retro badges right in the center of my grille when i get all my front end stuff on.
IMO its like trying to polish a turd. Not to say that your car is a turd, but its basically the same concept.

everybody used to ask me the same thing when i had my camaro, you have the ss wheels, the ss spoiler and the ss hood... why dont you put the ss badges on it? simple cause it is a Z28!!!!!! didnt have the intention of trying to pass it as a SS, just chose to install the parts cause a regular Z is plain jane looking to me. The SS is sooooooo much meaner looking than a Z. But anyways now the rant is over cause a got rid of it a bought the meanest looking car of all the F-bodies. J/K dont everyone with a camaro get their panties in a bunch, you all have sweet *** rides as well, especially the lowered look with thte 315'S

You can't clone what never existed.

This is a big No-No as far as I'm concerned. I see no legitimate reason to ever badge a car as something that it's not… other than the owner of such a car trying to satisfy his/her own ego and "pretend" to have something that they really don't have.

Our cars are not retro so why badge them as such? Your either trying to copy anewer model by going retro on a none retro car or your trying to emulate a car that doesnt even resemble what your driving.

well i guess the guys at speed inc are "haters" when they put nickey badges on their lt1 they had a while back, along with the retro z28 badges. **** the car looked really nice. the current owner has gotten many many compliments on the car.
if you want to do it, i say do it. just dont tell anyone its a yenko, berger, or any other car. some of those badges look nice on a "berger" panel. IMO

you could always buy the red Hot Rod Berger Camaro that they still have at the dealership. Theyre asking 26k. Then you really would have a Berger Camaro

I think retro badges are fine, don't agree with putting badges that don't belong on your car though, like SS on a Z28, etc. I have a Z28 with an SS spoiler and I took off the Z28 badges but no way in hell am I going to put SS badges on it.

I've been holding off on this thread till I got my car done and pics of the new emblems on the car. I have 67 Camaro V flags on the fenders and 69-72 Chevelle SS emblems in chrome/white in place of the stockers as they are EXACTLY the same size and style as the originals. I replaced all 4 sets of emblems on the car. I have the old style Hurst emblem on the tail panel as well. I also put on matching 350 emblems in chrome/white in the hockey stripe break.

Classic "retro" badges are fine, but don't try to pass it off as something it's not. That's just as bad as a Mustang putting cobra emblems on it, or a V6 putting SS badges on it.

Whats sad is i know a guy with a real Yenko, orange if your curious, and when he was showing it at an auto show i was listening to guys go
guy1: I wonder if its real
guy2: nah its just a clone, i can tell.

I wanted to punch them in the mouth.

Don't put badges that don't belong on your car.. it's laaaaame.

I'm planning on taking the parts from a few Pontiac emblems and making a 346 checkered flag emblem to replace the WS.6 emblem on the back of my car that doesn't belong there... since the previous owner decided to make a clone out of it and the paint is going to get screwed up when I take it off. But generally, I like classic emblems on newer cars, but not when it's cloning something special.

I like retro Z/28, SS and Chevrolet badging on the Camaros. It plays tribute to the history of the car, so I see nothing wrong with it. However badging it as something its not, I am not a fan. (I don't like when you put the WS.6 badge on a non WS.6 cars...same for the SSs.)

I wanted to find some old school bird emblems for mine, for somewhere in the interior.

The retro badging looks good. I guess I miss understood the poll though, I thought that was what you were talking about. If you are talking about badging it with yenko or nickey....WHY?

most of them look nice. I just thought of it. nobody ever did this to the T/As. I think the camaros could pull it off. Just not the firebirds.
