I took my front bumper off. It is not that hard to do. I recommend to do it this way to get a nice fit.

I put this grill on my 99. First, remove the stock grill. I pulled my stock grill off without removing the front bumper. It takes a great deal of strength to remove it, and I didn't rip it off. I gradually pulled on it until it popped free. Next, clean the area where the grill was mounted with car wash soap, and dry. Put the slp grill in place and with a black marker, mark all 8 (i think) places where holes need to be drilled using the grill as your template. Take time here and make sure that it is perfectly centered!!! Have someone help you eye it up. Next, remove the grill, and drill a pilot hole for each place, and then drill the hole a little bit smaller than the push-in clips. If I remember correctly, they have flexible splines. This will allow for a tight fit. Put your grill back in place and push in the clips. Your grill should now be securely fastened. When you put the emblem on it, is up to you. I put mine on before I mounted on the car so that it would be perfectly straight. My dog decided that the oem SS emblem tasted so good, that he wanted to chew it off my grill, as well as that front part of the grill. So I spent an entire weekend fixing it. And replaced the factory emblem with an old school SS emblem. Here are some pictures.

Due to the fact that I am not too confident about ripping something off of my car, I removed the entire front bumper. It took all of 10 minutes to do. I cleaned the grill as stated above and then used alcohol for that added assurance of cleanliness. I then used 3M double stick tape and adhered the SLP grill. It looks great and there are no NEW holes.

I believe you have to remove the front bumper, but it looked to be a PITA when I looked at it... The double sided tape sounds like it would be very easy to get stolen

I used the instructions that came with the grill. You can find them on SLP's site. Click where it says instructions.

Exactly why I didn't do it that way. I don't leave my car along very long, but I think that a taped grill could be ripped out pretty fast compared to one that used the supplied push pins.

i know what you guys are saying, but it just doesnt seem like very many people would walk around checking if the grille on a car is taped or screwed in....

Another member posted up not too long ago that his slp SS grill was stolen within the same week he put it on. He didn't mention how he put it on, but I'm guessing it was taped on.

The SS lettering has to be put on by you. It's not that hard, don't worry.

As far as my grill having the possibility of being stolen......I wish I could say that there aren't people out there who would steal my grill, but if there are, and they are willing to take the chance of getting the $#!t beat out of them, then more power to them. My car is a garage queen at night, so the thieves better hope I'm away from my car for extended periods while out and about.

Wow.. You guys are making a mountain out of a mole hill. When I did mine (someone yanked the stock one out at Target ******* Haters) No damage to the underside. You take the slp one and have a buddy place it how you want it on the bumper and hold it there. Grab a marker that will show on your paint in my case silver and put dots where the holes are. Remove the SLP grill and drill holes. Bit size are in the instructions. Once your done replace grill and push pins in and viola.

-nate- below are the closest pics I have of it.

EDIT! Those two rectangle things you don't have are laser shifter sensors.
EDIT 2! Now I'm wishing I spray painted the styrofoam with gloss black spray paint.
