When I added mesh to my SLP SS grille, I epoxied a piece of hard polyurethane to the grill, drilled it, and used stainless bolts, nyloks, and fender washers to hold the mesh in place. You could try a variation of this...BTW, I got everything from McMaster-Carr. Here's a pic:

drill small holes and color match some zip ties in them to hold it in place.

Sorry, but I have to laugh at the reluctance to drill a hole in the bumper after hacking the whole center out...origonal mounting tabs and all! See, I know:

Seriously though. I'll be dong the same thing once I get back stateside. I'm going to epoxy four retaining clips to the inner edge of the bumper where the origonal mounting tabs were and then mount a wire front cover from RK Sport, SLP, etc, etc.

I'd recommend against the fiberglass. Might run into issues with it cracking as the bumper is flexible now (product of removing the foam from inside it.....and losing the lower mounting tab points from the FMIC.

Just my $0.02.

Ive been ragged on about the "ricer mesh", but in FL, there a lot of rocks and **** on the roads. Id rather replace the $30 mesh than a $150 IC. The mesh I got from Advance Auto. Its actually for the imports in the import section. Comes in a big sheet that works perfect and is polished aluminum (can also come in red or blue).
