I figured I would throw this in here also..
This is a LS1 Air Box on a LT1 Car. I had to cut the hole in the Hood, but when the Cowl goes on it, you won't be able to tell. Notice where I blocked off the silencers on this setup. I finally broke over 110MPH with this, and that was with a 2.15 60'.
I know it needs a paint job, and it doesn't have the Engine, but you get the idea..

Good Idea and I think it would look better if you pulled off the stickers and painted it black... just until you get the hood.

They do reach, just barely. The one that needs to be extended is the Air Temp. Sensor. This was running and fully functional, I had it for about 2 days until the Engine went.

wow.

Once the car's running, make sure you at least get a clear lid when it's time to cruise.

You do know that you'll have to explain that mod to every car guy that sees it. So.... what made you cut a hole in your hood again?

That was the only way to fit it under there. I heard of a guy that got it to fit under a LT1 Hood, and from what I did and what I measured, there was no way...
It looks interesting now, but once it gets a Cowl, no one will tell. It got me trapping over 110mph in the 1/4, and the car was still cold. I can see it hitting 12.6's, and that's still stock Heads and Stall, with street Tires.

I think my AC mod is just as interesting as well, it's in a thread here somewhere. That's tomorrow's project.
