Possible to Modify Reverse Glow Guages?
I bought these guages when I first bought me car.
I wanted blue guages but I don't like the glowing ring where the needles originate. Is it possible somhow to make it so this ring doesn't light up?

But no, really. I would think maybe you could get some white vinyl cut for around there or soemthing like that. It would probably still shine through somewhat, but not as bright as it is now.

I had that one and the glowing center drove me crazy, now I have the one that looks 99% like stock and no glowing middle. They are cheap and a easy install, around $40 for the one without the glowing center.

Unfortunately, the way electroluminescent film works, you can't really just... not have that part light up. It's basically one big sheet of EL film under there. So your best bet is to just block the light.

I have the PCP one that doesn't have the middle. I actually cut out all the indicator lights so ONLY the gauges are silver and not the whole cluster. I was hesitant to do it, but grew some b*lls and cut. Works perfect and has been for a year now. BTW, just get some white vinyl (or silver if that's the color of your gauges) and cut a circle out and put on top of it. By far the easiest and cheapest way to get rid of it.
Here's waht I got

Yep just power and ground. I mounted the dimmer under the dash, behind the panel. There's a spot perfect for it. No need to mount it so you can always adjusted. Once you get it adjusted to your liking, you'll prob never touch it again. BTW, wrap the back of the dimmer up, it'll shock the **** outta out if you don't.

Just go to your local sign shop (look it up in the yellow pages) and buy a foot of white/silver vinyl. They might have different brands/shades, so bring your overlay in there to match it. Might even ask them if they have any scraps laying around, white's a highly used color and they might even give you enough for free.

Thsnkd, I won't be doing this for quite a while as school is taking up ALL my freetime. Probebly over winter break. I'm also, gonna paint some of the interior pieces pewter... still deciding if I want to try that myself or get it proffessionsally done.
Before I get any insults on the painting, believe me I'm not trying to make it look ricey, Thats why I NEED to get rid of those blue circles.

Those are the ones I have. Except I didn't cut anything, I liked the all silver. I just put a TA bezel on it to break up the silver.
That last pic the color looks different then the pic you posted, but it's the same. My camera made the color different.

I knew I needed a bezel with the wqhite faced gauges. I was going to cut the guages so only the actual guages were white. but your guages look good in all white, so now I dunno what I'm gonna do.

The TA bezel really helps break up the color on the full overlays.
I also pushed the dimmer and color selector switch behind the kick panel. After it is adjusted (which I just set mine to full) I never had to readjust it again.
