I've only entered one car show before but to the best of my knowledge.... just make sure that car is damn clean in and out. Armoral all plastic pieces, mothers back to black, etc. etc. on top of just cleaning the body.

I've seen people use little metal supports to hold the t-tops up about 45 degrees, plaques are always good, and maybe a photo album.

If your just going to have fun, find a few buddies to go with and park next to eachother, clean your cars like you would anyother day and sit and bullshit and watch people oogle over your cars. in my case when i went a guy argued with me that my car was a 6 banger and i should not misrepresent my car as a Z28 when infact it is not. i told him to leave my presence.

Unfortunately I've found that most of the shows I've been to 4th gens aren't too popular, and get snubbed by alot of the older "hot rod" crowd, as being too new or some other such BS (never mind most of them would get smoked by the average 4th gen in a race)
Just go, have fun, bring some buddies along, or go alone and find someone to BS with, and look at all the nice vehicles, and the cute chicks

Clean clean and clean. 4th gens do win alot. I have beat out some 1st 2nd and 3rd gens at shows. Is this show judged? Your chances are better if it is.

Use a can of air to remove anything in the engine. And shine up the hoses and air lid. And a long detail brush for the vents and little corners that stuff might get in. Shine the tires and get a mirror shine on the paint.

your car looks good for your sig. And have fun.

lol so true, just go out and have a good time though. leave nothing left unnoticed. if u have anything like origional documents, display them. i have the pamphlet for 93 hawks and display that on my passenger side dash. lol its a 2sided piece of nice quality laminated paper lol. but dont leave anything out that ppl can take, i was at a hooters show and i am not in tfcc (tulsa firebird camaro club) but i post on the forums and know a lot of them and there was a car parked between me and this guy chad, the car left the show early so i pulled my lawn chair between our 2 cars and was layin down just watchin ppl go by and stuff, some mexican (no offense to others) walked right behind me, like 2 feet behind me, and was messin with chads stuff and was startin to take somethin but turned around at the last min and put it back. next day on the forums chad was like did u see that guy behind u, i was watchin him and about to pounce but he put it back....so just watch your stuff...but go out and have a good time. its fun, youll upset some ppl 2...i go in all origional 19-- to now, usually 1980 some to now...i beat out a testarossa which was flawless and some others, ended up bein me, a new z06 and a srt8 charger in the top 3 in that class, which i was definately not expectin to place...but ppl get really into it and upset if they dont win, but just have a good time with it and take pics!!!

from that particular show, here is my hawk, the srt8 charger, and the testarossa that we beat out...didnt get the 06 z06, batteries went dead...but i think the ferrari should of gotten me, i honestly think its my interior that keeps me placin in some of these things

Thanks for the advice guys.. The show is judged. From what I hear there are about 600 cars already pre- registered for this event so I should have plenty to look at while Im there. I'll take some pics and post them up next week

600 thats huge. There should be a class range that you will be in. Most likey f-body class.

And one more thing clean your wheel wells. Spray some tire shine foam and let it sit. It makes your wells look great. I have judged a few shows.

i just pointed out that it was a Z28, i couldnt really count the spark plugs because they are way in the back. so i kindly dismissed him from the presence of my 8 cylndered vehicle.

I have won my share of shows this year and the best advice I can give you is to clean clean clean like others have previously mentioned. I remove my wheels and clean the insides of them and the fenderwells, the engine bay and interior is always spotless as well. Remember to open the hatch and I always take my t-tops off as well. Be sure to clean along the rocker panels, the dust that gets under the taillights, the windows, under the hood, and the exhaust tips. Any little blemish can cost you a trophy.

Good luck at the show and have fun most importantly
