side molding mod
Welp, I bit the bullet today and started on the side molding removal. The moldings & glue came off really easy suprisingly...Although, it left some gunk left over that looks like oil buffed into the clear...
Also, There's some parts like on the side ends of the moldings (not the top or bottom of the strips) that looks like where paint is sorta inclined to the level of where the moldings attached... I rubbed it down thoroughly with alcohol and am planning on letting it sit out in the sun for a day and giving it a good wash...
Any of you guys know whats happening here, and know how I can get rid of it besides the fact of wet sanding it??

Well the best way to do it is not to just rip it from the side-to-side. If you go from top to bottom or vice versa it takes about 80% of the tape off with it (at the least). For me the tape was already kinda loose but I didn't take the time to use a heat-gun or hairdryer to warm it up ( I strongly advise this). The Moldings on the door however are a bit harder to get off... Oh, and you will have blisters...Lots of them.. Goodluck on it bud.

it was pretty easy for me, i just let the car sit in the sumer sun and peeled it off slowly and it took most of the two sided tape with it. if any tape stuck to the car i just rubbed it off with my thumb and used stoners window cleaner to remove any residue.

I wanna do this soo bad buy im afraid to mess up my paint......Is it really hard to mess it up? I was thinkin about using a hairdryer and just ripping it off end to end. Is that the best and easiest method or is there better ones?

the easiest way is to heat up the side molding with the hair dryer and slowly lift the molding strait up towards the sky, a piece of fishing string is helpful when doing this..... then "roll" the excess adhesive tape with your fingers (be sure to switch fingers to avoid blisters) use goo-gone (or like product) and a cloth to remove all the left over adhesive.... i live in florida so i didnt really need a hair dryer
