I'll wait to see the write up on this biznatch. I've thought about it for awhile, but never really liked it.

The only way I can see it being on my car, is if all the bolts and the door are painted gloss black to match.

The factory fuel door is cheap and shitty, like the rest of the car. Maybe that's why a decent billet one seems out of place.

I like it, 60% of the time. Like I said, if it were on my car, it would have to be painted to match.

How do you figure that????? I can have my stock fuel door back on in 15 minutes. Nothing is modified to put these on.

i thought you had to grind the rivets off the old door which is kind of hard to go back. Also don't you have to screw it into the qtr panel.

Looks good BV!

How flush does it fit? From this pic it looks like it sticks out a little? If it's flush I may get one and have it painted black. I love this mod on my truck.

I think mine was around $90-95 from the Mitsu dealer. Have had it on now for 4+ years and get a lot of compliments about it.

On silver or pewter (my car's color) cars, it looks fine unpainted as it blends in somewhat. On other colors, it really should be painted to match.

I almost forgot!

Its fairly straight forward

You'll need some washers that are ~1/4 - 3/8 in OD...and that fit the bolts that came with the new fuel door.... you'll use them to sandwich your new door and the car body together....

You'll find it easier too if you remove your rear tire and wheel and loosen up the black body panel inside your wheel well...it just has some plastic screw keepers

1. Open your fuel stock door...you'll see some pop rivets that circle your door...get a drill that’s just barely larger than the size of the center of the pop rivers... and drill them out..

2. Pull the door off

3. If your going to re-use your plastic overfill catch thingie you’ll have to mod it by notching it where the screws on the new fuel door will pass thru it and notch it or drill out holes for them to pass thru... if your not going to re-use then proceed on to step 4.

4. Press the new fuel door against the outside of the cars body…. and at the same time place the bolts that came with the fuel door thru the holes on the fuel door...and thru or around the catch cup if you used it… they will not need to go thru the body of your car. in fact I don’t think they even come close..

Anyway...use the nut and washer to "sandwich" the body of the car between the washers and the fuel door. Don’t over tighten so that you can make minor adjustments for fit as you go.

5. Do the same for all bolts on the cover put everything back.. then check the fit and tighten everything down

6. Have a beer...your done

This took me about 35 minutes..its very straight forward....If you do a neat job at drilling out the stock fuel door you can very easily roll-back your mod to stock...

Sounds exactly how I did mine, except I didn't attach the plastic overflow "thingy".

Hardest part of the install is getting the tiny nuts on the back of the bolts and holding them as you tighten the bolt from outside.
Yes that was a bitch!

I HATE WHEN IGNORANT PEOPLE FEEL THE NEED TO POST IN THREADS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS NOT A RICER MOD, IT CAME FROM OLD-SCHOOL MUSCLE CARS!!!!

Back in the day many muscle-cars from Ford to Mopar had billet aluminum fuel doors...

Ford revived this trend with the "Bullit" Edition Mustang creating the modern day billet fuel door which has been copied by many manufacturers since it's creation...

Yes, many ricers copied this and put it on their cars but THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT IS NOW A STRICTLY RICER MOD!!! I guess these guys would think and old 'Cuda is RICE because it's fuel door is different that the rest of the car and their un-educated, in the realm of REAL CARS, idiot brains have only seen it in The Fast and the Furious and therefore it is rice...

Anyways, if I could start over modding my car's appearance I would get chrome 18" Z06 rims, paint the spokes in a Charcoal Metallic (with a clear coat, leaving the lips chrome though), put charcoal metallic side stripes on my Sunoco hood and get one of these billet doors and paint it in the same charcoal metallic...

Yea, what he said!!!!!!!!!!!

Eat this rice:

And while we're at it, how about some Carbon Fiber for dessert:

I have been shouting this for 4 years on this forum now. You closed minded people have no idea where some of these mods come from. You have allowed the Honda/Toyota crowd to "own" certain things like carbon fiber, like push button start, like a whole lot of other things. Why are these called rice, yet the same people will **** their pants when someone posts up a turbocharger or better yet nitrous pics. I get so pissed off when someone calls a push button start rice when I have personally sat in and started up a Ferrari F50 that uses a pushbutton start. Is that Ferrari rice??? Is that exotic that has carbon fiber interior trim rice??? No you think it's rice because some kid with more imagination and talent in his right pinky finger, than you have in your whole body, has taken these materials and ideas and have run with them. I don't have nor do I ever plan on owning a "ricer", but you better get used to them because these kids are what is keeping the car craze in America alive and strong.

Oh, and here's a shot of my EXTREMELY RICER engine bay:
