Default Seatbelt Removal

I need to know how to remove the front seatbelts from the floor. If anyone knows of a write up or how to do it I would really appreciate.

I haven't taken any time to look at it, but I'm going to need it off on Thursday.

I'm assuming the plastic with what looks like a HUGE philips head on it pops off, and there's something to unbolt underneath?

Anything helps, thanks in advance.

Its been a while since I've done it, but if I remember correctly, that cover pops off and there is a torx bolt under that.

Remove the big Phillips head screw. there is a torx head bolt behind that that holds it down, make sure you have the right size torx head or youll be when you strip out the bolt. they usually have lock-tight on em.

The factory definitely used some good lock-tight, don't strip the bolt.

I thought it was a trox 47 or 50 for the seat belt bolts. I just removed mine last week and it wasn't that difficult.

Its a Torx 47, but I ended up using a 50 (which got stuck), and then a 47 (which didn't strip anything). Unfortunately, it didn't accomplish what I was going for.

USE THE 47!!!

Trust me I swappd out an ENTIRE interior. It made a punishing painful job into a much my entertaining pastime.

Hopefully you pulled the seat out first, it makes the job a lot easier, if you did lengthen the lever action to make it quite a bit easier.

If I can do it with a bum shoulder on a freakin' 99 with a 47 and a long *** pipe it shouldn't be a problem for ya!

Though it could be a little difficult getting the brittle bolt cover off without damaging it. Luckily I had x2 more than I needed so I had replacements.

It's not loctite, it's a rubbery sealant that makes it a PITA... Not that hard though... Should take maybe 5 minutes...

Yeah try to keep the rubbery stuff on the screw for when you put it back on. It is on there for a reason. It also seems to insultate the screw from heat.
