Default Carpet on Dash?

Its starting to get cold here and I currently have a dashmat cover on because it gets so hot here. How many of you leave yours on all year. I know heat can damage the dash, but how often does cold weather? I know there is a lot of people that hate dashmats but I would rather look at it then look at a crack.

Where are you located? With proper care, you can prevent cracks.

I am in West Texas where we see over 100s in summer and it can get down to the teens in winter. I use Meguires protectant on it since it seems it help prevent that residue on the windshield that kinda looks like fog.

I'm in the hot areas of houston as well. I just put a windshield visor when my car sits in the hot parking lot in the summer. Even with the sun beating in the dash it doesn't get hot.

I have one with the build number of my SS on it and it's been on there since i got it. Would i have put one in? Probably not. However i do like it being in there sometimes so the light isn't blaring into my eyes off the dash (like a friends car did) and it doesn't look terrible. It's all your call man, i dont mind mine but if it wasn't there i would not have gotten one.

I live in CA and have no problem with the heat/cold. My TA stays out 24/7 also. I have been using a windshield shade in the summer though.

I dont care for them to much. The only reason for me as well is the blaring sun light reflection, when the dash is clean and shiny. I to have added a logo, WS6.

The matt also hides the wire for my radar detector.

Dash panel costs about $75. Proper care can prevent cracking, using the right protectant can prevent it from glaring.

No amount of money can fix how people will look at the car with it having one of those things in it. Imho they deserve to go to the same place as plastic crowns, big spoilers, and coffee can exhaust tips.

Well when I got my car the guy already had a dashmat so I only use it when the car is parked on sunny days or sitting anywhere parked, I have no cracks at all on my formula.

I hate the way dashmats look! I live in Florida so during the summer i try not to leave my car in direct sunlight and always have some kind of dash protectant on it, or just use a sun shade when you park it.
