Are any of you that had your roofs replaced NOT the original owner? Would it matter?

at 95k mine is bubbling like crazy, is there a mileage limitation?

edit: I see dave was the 2nd owner, anyone else?

So these panels are glued down how do they come off if you want to take them off yourself I wonder. I figured there was bolts inside also.

I'm the 2nd owner of my car, no it doesn't matter. They have to cut right above the windshield and peel it back to the hatch on a hard top.On t-tops I'm not sure on that one but I know CashMoney could tell you. Miles don't matter either.

Had mine done thru Walker Pontiac in Bowie Md. Car was several months out of warranty. Walker didn't initialy want to help me, I called the Pontiac cust service # and a woman there got the ball rolling for me. It was fixed under the 6 year corrosion warranty.

I took mine to Massey Chevrolet in Downey, CA. The body shop agreed to replace it at no cost when I showed them the Service Bulletin. They ordered the parts but I havent had time to take it in to get it fixed. Mine isnt that bad compared to others that I have seen.

BTW, Im the original owner with 27,000 miles. Im planning on calling them soon to schedule an appointment.

I'm still waiting on my sail panel to come in and be painted. Then they are going to call me...but they are doing it for free. Not under warranty though, but by good faith that I'll be a good customer to them in the future...

I live in Ohio now no one would touch it here, they all acted like they didn't know about it or said the car was out of warrenty.

I took it back to the dealership that I bought it from, Lafayette IN Pontiac dealer.

Original owner, garage queen, 18,000 miles.

I did get a little hesitation from them as well. They said they were only fixing it because I bought it from them and I was the original owner.

There's quite of bit going on in here..
First off on the phone I was told by GM themselves (or a rep of GM) that the sail panel was not covered under the corrosion warranty because that only applies to "Metal Parts"
I was not going to take no for an answer I started looking for a place to fix it when I had 22.5K on the clock and took it to every local dealership that is affiliated with GM.

The Pontiac told me they only deal with pontiacs and not chevrolets.

The Chevy dealership said they didn't trust their guys to do it under warranty but would allow me to pay for it and have them do it.

Finally they gave me a place in Indy (forget the name) Then they said they would out-source it up in Ft Wayne which meant in the dead of winter I would have to drive the car to indy, trust one of their techs to drive it up to Ft Wayne then trust the Ft Wayne company to drive it back to indy then I would have to drive there to pick it up. (500 Miles Est.)

Lastly I went to Indy and went from dealership to dealership with the Service Bulletin in my hand and a fresh detail explained how I am the 2nd owner, It's a garage queen, kept in show room condition, yadda yadda yadda and finally they fixed it. Penske Chevrolet in Indy this was 6 months after I started looking for a place to fix it

***Cliff notes-2nd owner got it fixed for free, went through a lot of **** GM 800 # was no help. Have printed copy of SB in hand. Penske Chevrolet in Indy fixed my sail panel.
Good Luck to whoever pursues getting their car fixed.
