Default Interior swap?

This may be a dumb question, and my search isint working, but I want to change the entire interior of a 93 Trans-Am from tan to black. I dont want to paint any panels and I am wondering if I can swap interior pieces (like plastic trim and door panels, etc.) from an ebony interior, later modeled Trans Am. Will this swap work?

it'll work...i believe the firebirds interior is pretty much the same from 93-02 beside the center console and steering wheel that were changed in 98-02 model years!!

Yes it'll work. You might want to look at going with Graphite interior instead, its a dark gray color. You pay a premium for Ebony expect to pay a good $1500+ for everything.

I did an interior swap in my 95 camaro. It can get quite expensive. The ebony door panels cost me an arm & a leg.

any interiors between any 93+ camaro and firebird is exchangeable. Why dont you want to paint? If done correctly with proper paints it can look just as good and even protect from uv. You should consider all options cause nothing changed in the interior other than the console and shifter and the guages in 97+ have bezels but you can get them at procarparts.com for 20bux

very true but if you use a clear coat you cant even notice it. Plus if you scratch plastic its just as noticeable and a lot more permantent. Would you rather buff out and sand plastic? or just sand and repaint?if you do it proper ly i mean sand degrease prime paint and clear it will really last. Im not talking a $5 can from autozone

Obviously you've never had a painted interior, and its very hard to just scratch plastic.

Ya, Ive never seen a painted interior in real life, but from everything Ive heard and read, it is almost impossible to keep the paint from flaking or getting easily scratched

With my 95 that I did the interior swap to, the previous owner painted the interior panels black. They were all scratched up and the paint was flaking off. Looked like ****.

I've always wanted a black interior in my black t/a instead of the gray, but I have a feeling it would cost a TON after all is said and done because in addition to the panels you have to worry about the headliner, the seats, etc.

my first car was a 1988 fiero gt. i bought it from a junk yard for $100 and rebuilt it. Well my fisrt project car it was my second car. I had auto body at high schooll and when it came time to paint it my techer said " you know for only another day or two worths of work we can pull out your interior trim peices and color match them to the ne wpiant outside. So we color matched the entire interior to the eterior which was torredo red metalic from ford. It turned out great. We wet sanded it and out 5 coats of clear up. It looked great after two but we decided to use up the clear since there was barely any left. I had the car for two more years with no scratches or flakes. I dont know what you guys are doing inside your cars to make them so prone to scratches but i never had a problem. I liked it so much i color matched the inside of my current car at the time, a 94 firebird v-6, white to match the outside. Also never had a problem. I kinda regretted it cause it looked diferent than i thought, too much contrast but still, no scratches. The clear coat is the trick

I have a 69 Mach 1 that was a complete basket case and missing the entire interior. When it was time to do a resto i found a complete set of interior panels in red and my car needed black interior. So i read an article in car craft and bought all the products they used. I hand washed everything with soap then dried them. I used the special cleaners they recommended and adhesion promoters as well. I then painted it with very high dollar paint, from a paint gun with flex agent in it as well. The stuff looked awesome but it scratches very easy. Hell scratches just appear in the stuff i don't even know how they got there. The same goes for all the rattle can jobs i've done and seen done.
