do what i did... i have a painted black grill... i got tons of rock chips in mine.. .. i repainted it in 4 coats of high temp black.. then went to a auto body shop and told them what i was doing.. they gave me an acrylic thick clear to spray on it... the damn thing is bullet proof now.. not a single nick or chip.. almost like its powder coated.

Great idea I'm gonna order one now. I didn't want to pay to have it powdercoated.
