it's possible to do both, although it may take twice as long to get where you want to be. Look at my car...I've spent less than 100 on appearance, but I still have a mostly unique/unmistakeable car, and have been able to take a full second off my 1/4-mile time. Just gotta hit the classified sections of boards for the performance stuff..save a bundle

Definitely just go one step at a time, like said above do the things that do the biggest difference for least money first, and then work from there. If something is bugging you save and change that, if a buddy just beat you, save and change that etc etc

Regarding modding... "I dont care how it looks as long as it goes fast"

But, when you begin with an SS, it looks good enough. If i did anything it would be springs, CCW's or Iforged, with CME, and tint the windows...For now i am going to save for a set of heads...

Performance always first! Because without Performance you'll never finish first! (Not even in a beautypagent.) lol, my car right now has a hole in the passenger fender, chipped up bumper, and primer on the lower half of the door. I bought it like that a year ago and havn't touched anything but go fast parts. She runs good and I havn't had any one i've beaten say. "well yeah you beat me but my cars prettier". lol

You most certainly want to do both. I myself am not into the sleeper thing. I want people to know what I have But in saying that I would do all your apperance mods first. A they tend to be cheaper in cost to complete and B. Then when you start modding under the hood people will notice even more because she already looks fast Just my .02

Theres alot of cheap things you can do to make them look better, vinyl overlays, paint the calipers, tint, black outs/clears

headlight blackouts are horrible, and cheesy. It would be a free appearance mod if you pulled those things off

Basic performance (headers, lid, true duals, etc) and exterior (hood, tint, take off the front plate and get new grille, etc), little by little man.
