The more blue/purple the actual bulb color output is, the less light is actually produced.
nice work. did you have to cut the housing? if you did, what did you use to seal it?

zfastss- Sweet setup!!!! Glad I could provide some inspiration to a fellow enthusiast. Your setup looks very clean. One day I will get around to redoing my setup and I might go with the TSX projectors. They have become very popular in the recent years- I wish they had been around when I did mine. I agree with what you said too, hidplanet (was hidforum I believe) is a phenominal resource and your finished product shows you put in the research.

NSX- You can get D2R bulbs almost anywhere. Ebay, google, you could get them from a car dealership (probably the most expensive option) etc. The problem I believe you will run into is focusing the light correctly. A D2S bulb isn't going to fit right into our 9006 housing, and even if it did you might run into problems with beam reflection at the correct spot.

Yeah, I had to cut out the back of the housing some to fit them in, but it wasn't all that bad, it just took time and patience. I sealed up everything with some RTV (no moisture issues so far after almost a year)
What Dan just said above about the possible issues is very ture. Actually this is true with any "plug and play" kit (D2S or D2R), which is why people complain alot about glare and blinding oncoming drivers. Unfortunately HIDs aren't just as simple as a bulb swap (on the technical/optics side anyway).
Also as far as I could tell, a "kit" with D2R bulbs is hard to find (but not impossible) which I don't understand why, but you can find re-based D2R bulbs to fit the 9006 type holes (or whatever stock socket you have), you'd basically have to piece together a kit yourself:
2 ballasts (hella/phillips are popular and all over ebay)
2 bulbs
wiring harness (pre-made or make your own)

Bottom line, everyone is free to do whatever they like, if you want to throw in the typical plug-and-play for some brighter light, go ahead. It's kinda like putting headers on and not tuning it after. The end result is that it works, you got more power, but you're not taking full advantage of the mod.

I'm new to the HID's, so let me get this right, is there any kit that you can buy or do you have to fabricate everything. I'd want the projectors, bulbs, everything so I could just swap out headlights. Is this possible?
