Is modification necessary for an LT1 setup. I know the projectors go back a decent amount from the housing which may cause interference. I would hate to spend the money on this for me to put the lights down and BAM...

I don't think so. I'm still working out the details but I doubt it. I can't get them without the HID's, but Im working on it!

From the pictures it looks that way but Im not 100% sure yet. These also are 4x6.5, not the stock 98-02 size so fitting would have to be done. I want to say it's a D1S bulb, not sure yet.
Im waiting to hear back from him on the overall lenght of the housings, Im still not 100% sure if they are going to fit, with the projector they may be too long.

I know $1,000 is a lot of money, I can see where its coming from too. Projectors are exspensive, and the bulbs/ballasts are Hella which is where the bulk of the price is.

Once I hear back on the exact sizes I will know for sure if they are going to fit. I thought they would but from his discriptions Im starting to think not.

No offense, but $1k and I still have to hack up the car to make them fit...um no. I'll buy the 90mm Hella H9 projectors for $115/pair and make them fit (check one of my previous posts with links) then later do a H9 HID retrofit for $250 - $350. Total cost would be $365 - $465 vs $1000. Those units do look nicer, but I'm more concerned by actual light output, beam pattern, and cost.....roughly 60% difference. I know other venders are charging in the $1000 range for this kit also (there was a thread here recently about it) so I know that you aren't trying to screw us (actually you've been quite helpful), but in all honesty, these would have to be $500/pair (or less) for the HID setup that fits in place of the 4703 sealed beam units in the 1998-2002 Firebird for me to buy them.

Side note, maybe you can put together a kit (HID and non) retrofitting the Hella 90mm H9 projectors.

Nate the ones you posted in the picture are the LS1 style with the smaller housings. They also have the H4666 style housings for LT1s with a bi-xenon projector. The only modificiation for the LT1s might be creating enough room behind the pop-up like in the picture below. And before everyone starts saying thats to much, that is basically how much they sell anywhere you can find them for. I mean when you have the only product on the market like that you can pretty much control how much your vendors sell it for!

Damn, I've always wanted a nice looking setup like this for my car, but at 1k, I don't feel that I should be "fitting" them. Now if you told me that they'd fit right in, I'd probably be on board.

That's cool. These aren't made by those same folks that made them for the vette, are they? There was a big fiasco with them going under and taking a lot of $$.

I'm not a huge fan of Hella Projectors. To me they don't seem to get enough light through to the road. With retrofitting I would only use the TSX or The bi-xenon Acura (can't think of the name). But this is only retail, Im not making these.

Yeah but I don't think they are the exact size od the 98+ TA's stock headlights. And if they are I still think the projector is sticking out the back. Im debating on even selling these or not now, too much work involved for a install. If they were direct plug-n-play that would be great, but I don't know.

I think those were made by a company overseas? Correct me if Im wrong. I think they do make one for the corvette's but I haven't heard anything good/bad about them.

If those are from the manufaturer that I am thinking of, thoses are XP4656 which is the replacement for H4656 which is a 100mm X 165mm (3.94" x 6.5") bulb. The 4703/4701 bulb is 92mm X 150mm (3.62" X 5.91"). In other words, those are larger than the stock bulbs on a 1998-2002 Firebird. Maybe they now have units that will fit in place of the 4703/4701, but I didn't see it on their site. LS1_SS, maybe you can clarify. If you want, I can PM you the sites I know of to confirm that we are tallking about the same manufacturer.

Shoot me a PM. The ones we have don't fit the 98-02's. They're all the 4656 sizes.

Brand new from the factory they aren't that cheap.

PS: I am working on a cheaper, more practical projector right now. Hopefully have the first set one by January and more to come after that.

VIP1 is helping me out A LOT on this as well!!

Well...you weren't specific. They don't fit and I don't think anyone has tried. Maybe if someone has, they'll chime in. They do look nice though.

After checking all the specs, I am 99% sure they won't fit without some major cutting.
