Default Passenger side bump delete

i know it probably on here somwhere but i cant get the search funtion to find anything. Does any body have a link to a write up on deleting the hump on the passenger side floor pan? i know its useless and its a carryover from the lt1 so i decided to ger rid of it. I will have the carpet torn out because of installing a roll cage and i was going to modify my stock sliders for my new racing seats and i figured this mod just kinda fit right in. I wanted to get rid of that thing and see if it helps sit the passenger seat sit down a little and im also going to move it backwards about 3 inches. Havnt you noticed if you sit in the passenger seat it feels higher than the driver? In the passenger i feel like im going through the roof and in the drivers i am comfortable. Maybe cause my drivers is power?

Also should i use new brackets or retro fit my stock sliders?

Well you can raise and lower the drivers deat if it's powered so that's probably why you feel higher. About the mod I didnt even know it was possible but I'd bet a search would turn something up for you.

becuase it looks weird. And if youve ever saw a car without it you would see how much better it looked. Plus im going to have the carpet and console out and the seats removed in order to install a roll cage and relocate the brackets and install racing seats so right now it would be very very easy to do. So i wanted to do it while i had a good opportunity. Plus doesnt it kind of raise the floor pan where the seats are bolted in? wouldnt it help lower the seat on that side? has anyone ever noticed when you look at your car the seat look like theyre angled towards each other or like the're crooked? I want to square everything up in there

It was in 3rd gens as well. Since I'm never in the passenger seat, I don't care.

+2 for the B.F.H.

There was a post on here about that hump a while back, and if I remember correctly it was determined that there's a structural support in the hump area that keeps you from safely removing the hump.....someone needs to find that thread. (I'm too lazy)

No it hasn't... There IS a structural support there. It CAN be done, but it's a ton of work.

Here's a pic from W2W, whos doing a tub, as well as a retarded amount of other work to the car. Thread here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/sponsor-vehicle-projects-shop-tours/616447-w2w-1993-camaro-build-updated-4-25-08-a.html

As you can see in that pic, and throughout that thread. That floorboard also ties into the transmission support brace.

I've personally never seen that hump deleted, and I've been around for a good amount of time.

I am on your side though. That ******* thing sucks. I'm glad I don't sit there, it's uncomfortable as hell.

iat off let me clearify. in my above post i was nt saying oyu ere wrong that theres a support there i was only saying that support didnt make it impossible. I know no bodyys taking it that way i just wanted to be clear about it. 2nd- your right i have never seen it here but ive seen it plenty of time on ls1.com and on fbody.com i dont know if its worth cutting out a support ill have to look at it more when my carpets out and my exhaust is removed, that'll give me a clear veiw from both sides. Anyone else have aby other input? is the support there only for certain years? or maybee certain transmissions? i dont know if that even makes sense
