Default aftermarket mirrors??

ok, my driver side mirror broke at the mounting point (the plastic webbing inside the mirror housing) anyhow im looking to see if there is an aftermarket mirror, similar to the t/a mirror only actually having 2 pilars to hold it instead of the little fake out hole (look on the front of the mirror if you dont understand) i hope i explained this well enough. anyhow, it just doesnt seem like there is much aftermarket body support for these cars, ive only seen 5 different hood options including the 2 stock hoods, 2 aftermarket bumpers (1 gay ricer style and the wings west that looks pretty stock) and well thats really about it. maybe im just not good at finding such parts? anyhow no i dont want to rice my t/a out just make it a little different.

oh for the record, its a 2000 t/a
thanks
john

No you aren't going to find any aftermarket mirrors for an f-body at all unless you look for Euro parts and from what I have seen I have only seen them for the Camaro.

Aftermarket mirrors are only made for 60's-80' trucks and ricers.

You could try Pep boys though if you want (I'm not being an ******* I mean it, it could be a temp before you buy a new one.)

thanks, you dont sound like an *******, you confirmed what i alreadythought i'll probably end up making a pair out of fiberglass or carbon fiber, i might start the project next weekend, i just cant see spending 50 + s/h for a stock mirror.
thanks again

I know that they sold Carbon window covers for the Camaro awhile back, I don't know if they sold ones for the Firebird...

...thinking...

...crap can't remember who sold them.

Why not search for stock ones used at E-bay?

im just tired of the stock ones, i repaired the part that broke so i can still use the stock ones but i would like something different. its odd how the mirror broke i dont know how many people have torn theire mirors apart but its made out of 3 main components, you have the plastic housing, a metal mounting bracket 3 bolts hold that to the car while 3 screws hold the housing to it, the top arm portion of this piece is what broke and then you have the mirror/motor part attached to the plastic housing by 3 torx screws. i can take pictures if anyone actually cares.
thanks again for the alternate mirror ideas, im going to head to the junkyard with a mounting template i will make out of cardboard to check gp mirrors to see if they will mount up otherwise im sure it wouldnt be much work to adapt them.
