Default C6 Steering Wheel in Fbody

Anyone know if you can make the C6 steering wheel fit in the FBody? I have a '99 Camaro and the steering wheels is beyond ugly and I would hate to leave it.

I tried searching but as always I get a "408 Request Timeout"

i would think that it should match up to the steering colom but you might have to mess with the wiring, i doubt its completely plug and play but i could be wrong. the steering colom should be the same as gm hasnt done any major changes to it since the 70's?

Not sure how true that is, I havent driven an C5 in about 2 years but last I remeber the C5 steering column moved when the key was put in and pulled out to assist the driver.

FWIW you cannot put a C6 wheel into a C5 and you cannot put the '06+ 3-spoke nice C6 wheel into an '05 C6 and retain the airbag.

It sucks... b/c I'd love to have the C6 wheel w/ a C5 flags in it.

What about an '06 or '07 Silverado / Avalanche wheel? Even those look better than that Camaro wheel.

ive seen those, i meant that i think the splines and diameter of the metal shaft should be the same, they have changed certain things like the telescopic column's and even the amount of positions for tilt, ( in the 80s they only had like 3 or 4 i think there is around 5 -6 in my t/a) so your right the column technology has changed but i dont think the mounting has.

^ Different designs and connections... it's been attempted and confirmed that you can't transfer the new '06 wheel to even a '05 C6 while keeping the airbag.

The C5 key isn't in the coumn... it's in the dash.
