Super weekend cleanup
All of the interior pieces were in good shape (no cracks, tears, etc) but someone seriously did not give a crap about this poor car. They smoked in it...YUCK. I normally don't buy cars that have been smoked in as I really can't stand the smell, but I made the exception here because I felt the car was a bit of a rarity because of the mileage. There were also various stains everywhere. All of the ***** for a/c and headlights were stained brown. It didn't really stink like cigarettes, it just had kind of a musty smell to it.
This weekend I decided to fix that.
I don't want to brag - but I have this bad *** carpet cleaner for my house
Seriously, it is the best $200 I have ever spent. It has a kickass handheld attachment, and as soon as I brought this car home I fantasized about using it on it. Sorry, but sometimes my domestic side gets the better of me
I took the rear seat bottoms out, HOLY ******* DISGUSTING ****, BATMAN. I should have taken a pic of both sides. There was an entire can of Coke spilled under each seat. On the passenger side, there were two empty packs of cigs, french fries, peanuts, and change. On the drivers side, there was sinkers (from fishing), more change, and two lighters. Get this...all of the 'items' were actually STUCK to the carpet from the soda that was spilled. YIKES.
Here is the drivers side (better of the two sides) with the random items removed. The stain shown here was also on the floor/driveshaft tunnel.

It was almost 80 degrees today...perfect. I vaccumed first, then I sprayed carpet pre-treater all over the interior. Seats, carpets, door panels, etc. After that sat for a while, I doused the rear seat carpet with soap from the carpet shampooer. Then I put on my nitrile gloves and went to work.
This is the nasty mess that my cleaner pulled out of the interior. Roughly 2 gallons!!

It took me around 4-5 hours to do the entire car, every tiny bit of the interior was touched today. I felt like every time I turned around there was a new mess to clean up. SICK.
Finally some results. Here's the seat bottom now:

Both rears now super clean. I will put the seat bottoms back in after all is 100% dry.

And here's the front of the car:

I am totally pleased with my results. Now my car's interior actually looks like it has 26k miles on it. I can't believe anyone could trash a nice car so much...guess you learn something new every day. It also smells wonderful now. No must, no stink, no fake cover up smells, just...fresh!!!
