Blackfire and Zaino would probably get my vote ..

I used Collinite on my TA, and really liked it ..

NXT isn't even Meg's longest lasting .. #26, #20, and #21 all have better durability than NXT, in my opinion.

Haven't tried the Griot's sealant yet ..

Zaino, Klasse, and Collinite are going to be your best choices.

Meguiar's NXT was one of the worst.

Out of curiousity, which of these products do you use and what kind of durability do you get from it?

I last used Zymol on my Firehawk almost a year ago and it still beads water like crazy.

I'm a believer in Zymol.

No need to be confused. Just don't buy NXT for durability.

Zymol is the ONLY lsp that will ever go on car #1. However, I don't use my zymol for durability

NXT doesn't last for sh*t. And you cannot layer it as it's partially a cleaner wax. I use Meg #26 and like it a lot. I'll be trying some sealants as the warmer weather comes around though.

You can get Zymol directly from their site: www.zymol.com or yahoo search for some retailers online. Zymol also ships some of their products free (their top waxes). It should be fair to warn you, that some of zymol's waxes are Very Expensive. Zymol has a very wide product range, so in fact you should be able to find a wax product that should be reasonable in price.

If its Zymol's pure carnauba wax that you would like to try, then take a look at their Creme or Carbon models. Also look for Japon, Z3, and a few vehicle specific models. Zymols in general (as compared with many otc products) can be a bit higher in price. If price is an issue, you may want to check out their aerodynamic wax, which I believe is their least expensive wax. You could also use their cleaner wax product, but IMO I don't feel that you will get as much punch out of your paint without using a pure carnauba wax, all things being equal.

Visit a few detailing boards as well, bc you may want to see some other detailing alternatives that you can choose, if for some reason you want to compare zymol or if you don't think that they offer what you're looking for.

Make no mistake, if their wax is handled right................well you may need to see for yourself.

Does anyone know of a good detailing site or forum?

Ok, so Meg's NXT is defiently out...

Blackfire, Collinite, Zaino, & Zymol seem to be the favorites.

check out www.autopia.org. You will find an almost endless array of products there. Of course, there are product "camps" there as well: Zaino people, pinnacle people; There's even a Zymol click there as well. Zymol isn't readily embraced at a few detailing boards, mainly because of their extremely high asking prices for some of their waxes.

The main emphasis with any product is to try it and compare products against their competitors. Ultimately you as the user will have to determine whether any product has lived up to the claim on your car.

Also try out sites like meguiars online, detailcity.org, and also try a yahoo search.

I have tried them all and no question Collinite is the best. It is hard to find sometimes and not cheap.

Autogeek sells Collinite and its on sale right now actually, like 12 bucks for a tin.

Is Collinite considered a sealant or a wax?
Can Collinite be layered?
Is layering effective?

Collinite is a wax and can be layered to a certain extent. Layering is useful for ensuring complete coverage and maximizing durability (usually 2-3 coats).

Zaino is the most durable I've used and it looks really good. Collinite is durable but doesn't have the optics of Zaino.

Are Sealants good for my paint?

I'm curious as well as to if the best way to go about thing is to apply a sealant and then a wax, or just one or the other.

2-3 coats of a durable sealant is all you should need for protection. A quality sealant is fine for your paint.

If you're applying both, the sealant needs to go down first for proper bonding.

In those two statements you totally contradict yourself. You can definitely layer nxt. Again its a sealant not a wax and sealants always come before any carnauba based wax's.

Layered nxt which has been on the car since summer 2005
