Cat **** is the toughest odor causing stain to get rid of. Cat's **** to mark their territory and the smell can linger for months. Best bet is to cover the whole area with baking soda and then put a plastic cover or sheet over it and leave covered for 2-weeks. Then remove sheet and vacuum throughly to remove the backing soda, should be cleared up by then.

We had bad gas spill in the back of our old van, once. We picked up some kitty litter, with special odor obsorbing B.S. Covered the entire section of the van (behind the rear seat) with that stuff about 1/2 inch to and 1 inch thick. I think we left it there for about a month, and left those back windows poped open. After we swept it up we vacumed with baking soda, the smell was gone.

Hope this helps.

I personally would shampoo the carpets, only because I don't have 2 weeks to wait while baking soda festers in my car (can't imagine you could get all of it out that way).

Get a heavy pre-treater, they make sprays just for nasty stuff like this. Follow the instructions to pre treat, and then rent a heavy duty carpet shampooer and have at it.

One of my parents' tenants had cats pee everywhere in their house.
They tried everything to remove the odor (so they didn't have to pay for new carpets) and finally found something they swear by to this day.
It's called "Nature's Miracle" ... two of my local pet stores carry it. Works like charm.

The bottle should be under $10. Might want to give that a try.

Go to a reputable detail shop and asked to have your car ozoned over night, then shampoo the whole interior.
