Default !Molding w/ lots of pics

Bored and a day off = !molding

Before

now for my amazingly how-to

materials

I started by doing the whole heat it up w/ a blow dryer and use dental floss in a sawing motion

and this is what i was left with

and i thumbed the rest

the result

took about 10-15 minutes

now i tried something else cause i figure that took to long

so i just used my man muscles and ripped door piece off

then i sprayed the sticker remover on it , and then i heated it up with the dryer. IT came off like butter took me a total of about 5 minutes for the last 2

the result

not hard at all

and next? TO THE CAR WASH!

i dont know why they put that molding on there in the first place, theres already a body line, thats plenty imo. good job, nice and clean removal with no scratching.

Looks much better without molding, but I can't believe you did it outside in the cold. I would have froze to death, but at least the beer stayed cold.. Nice work.

They have it there for when you open your door on a pole or get dings from other car doors. It's saved me a couple times but I still took them off!

Thats the same way I took them off on my last car with the DSR but I used a heat gun instead of the blow dryer and it worked great.

It looks a little better but I did that to my RS and I started getting some door dings so I got the dings fixed and put them back on. If you never park it next to any other cars it's cool but to me it's not worth the door dings. When I put them back on that's when I noticed all the little scuffs on them that most likely prevented a lot of dings. I won't buy a car without them now.
