Default VFN Sunoco Hood

Well I wasn't sure exactly where to put this thread, so here it goes.

I've always wondered how functional the Sunoco hood is. Does it provide any type of air flow to the airbox? Does it function as a cowl?

Either way it is still IMO the nicest looking hood on the market; I just wondered if it was merely for appearence.

No real function to the air box but I'm still amazed at how much engine heat comes out the back of it. It works with the engine running and even after you turn it off it works like a chimney letting all that trapped engine heat out. The hood looks good and it is lighter than a stocker.

Yeah alot of engine heat comes out from the vent when the car is running or after you shut it off.

Exactly.

But come on guys, who buys this hood for its functionality? It looks bad *** and saves some weight, if you were expecting some kind of measurable gain from a hood then get the SS hood, I hear it adds 100+ HP over the Z28.

This hood is the only reason why I would take a Camaro over a Firebird.

Fedex DROPPED my hood during shipment.
I was so mad, I was speechless for about 15 minutes. Didnt even want to take it home.

Fedex are paying with thier lives
I had insurance so I will get the hood payed for,( a check for what it costs new, $550 ) and I will use that to fix this one, and buy headers.
Thanks Fedex for the free headers damn jewfucks.

here's a pic of it on his SS, just for fitment....

This is what it looked like when I got it...

how mad would you be?
One corner was cracked good, the other was showing the hairs!
I bought this hood from another member on here but it was brand new, still has gel coat on it, thats not paint.
Its being taken care of as we speak.
A couple people Ive talked to said its pretty easy to fix fiberglass, any body shop can fix it.
I dont care about thats ill get it done, its just the fact that some jewfuck at fedex dropped the ****** on its back with a forklift or something, and never said anything. The bubble wrapping around the corners had been ripped, you could see it, and there was so much wrap on the other corner I didnt know it was cracked until I got home. I was so mad.

Wow that sucks! Definetly and easy fix though... Looks like Fed Ex just paid for your paint job (headers would be out of your pocket though ! )

Oh, shouldn't Fed Ex pay you the price of having a new one shipped to you as well?
