I just put one on my car. To mount it you need to cut off a small portion of the top of the shifter itself while being very careful not to cut the square plastic rod inside it. You will also have to cut off the plastic piece on the bottom of the boot. The boot is a pain in the ***. The torx set screw works without any modifications. I got the black/silver one and it color matches the console and dash perfectly.

My Impala shift **** was only $35 new, uses the factory staple and is black leather (more squared than a Trans-Am t-****):

I switch out between it and factory every once in awhile just to keep things mixed up !

The torx set screw has a point on it which digs into the shifter itself to hold it in position.
