I wouldnt buy that car, I would rather buy a car with a blown motor and MINT PAINT than a car with ox paint, and thats been neglected...

Paint should look decent without having to be detailed etc, all my cars look decent with no wax on them etc.....So do my parents cars, they just take care of them....

for absolute best results, you may want to get some meguiars #4- heavy cut cleaner...and an orbital buffer if you dont already have one, or even some #83 cleaner/polisher

just to show; before 83:

after 83:

just remember that everyone on here is going to give you the mid to low end of the market.

you can sell it for more especially with spring rolling around

Oh yeah, i'll be spending many hours buffing it with the PC. Starting with the burgundy Megs pad and #83 and working my way down, then finish it off with a couple coats of Zaino.

It won't even look like the same car when I'm done.

thanks for all the compliments guys. my sore fingers appreciate it. Its been torential rains here the last 2 days, hopefully tomorrow i can resume and wash/clay it.

Well here's some progress from today. Took 2 washes to get all the grime off, yuck. I used some Z-12 (Zaino Clear Glass Polish) on all the windows. And used Z-14 (Zaino Plastic Magic Cleaner & Polish) on the 3rd brake light. Here are some pics

T-top 1/2 done with Z-12. (the white dots are just dust from the towel)

After the Z-14 on the 3rd brake light

The glass after the Z-12 was finished

it depends on the car....as you can see the condition has a lot to do with the amount of time required to make it nice, and so does the price. The average car is about 150.

This one however is in a whole 'nother category.....has left detailing and gone to Paint Restoration. I'm giving my uncle a break on the price, but for anyone else *this* job would be $500+

I clayed the car and buffed a section on the left front quarter panel. Here is what I used
2 passes with Meguiares #83 with the burgundy Megs cutting pad
1 pass with Megs #83 with a Lake Country Orange med. cut pad
2 passes with Megs #80 with the yellow Megs polishing pad
Then finished with Megs Final Touch Detailing Spray.

Here are the before and afters:

After (btw, those lines on the left are reflections, not scratches)
