Silly trans am question

Silly trans am question Ok, hear me out. I am looking for a new console, and someone sent me a photo of one from a 99 trans am. I have a formula.
On the cupholder that is in the middle of the console (right behind the gearshift where your arm sits) there is a cover that goes over it. Does that cover come off, or is it hinged on there?
My formula's cupholder is just that...a cupholder with no lid.
Sorry for the dumb question but I guess I never really paid any attention to this before, and wanted to know before telling him yes on the console.

It is an ashtray from a late 90's sunfire. I have one in my car, and it works great. Finally a good use for that cupholder. The color is correct for "graphite" interiors 97-99, but looks close enough for a 2000-2002 ebony console.
You need to put some weather stripping around the bottom side of the ashtray, to make it fit secure in the 97-02 f-car console.

Yah, I got one too. It was the ashtray from one of my ex's 2001 Sunfire.
I coudn't stand having that huge hole in the center console and I had seen it before back in 2002 from another site member.

Actually, it was factory on some Camaro's and Firebirds as well.... It's generally an extra ashtray...
Not sure if the one in the pic was factory, but I have seen them come from the factory with them (seen them mostly on ebony cars so they were black with a cig. engraved on the top). Regardless, it pulls right out.
