Tail lights are from a 97-02, door handles & mirrors are from a 93-97 (I THINK they did that on 97s), and there are no Z28 emblems anywhere on the car.... Its got 4wheel disk brakes, so that knocks out it being a 93-96 V6. So I'm going to go on a limb and take a big friendly guess that its a 97 V6 Camaro w/ a 98-02 front clip. Ofcourse, all of this could have been swapped out. I just wonder what the story is behind this.
A) It would at least be a 1997, look at the interior (what you can see of it)...

B) Someone would have to have re-painted it that color (hugger orange wasn't an LT1 color) and therefore assuming it's an LT1 because of black handles would me moot...

C) I've seen plenty of LS1's with black handles (one of our sposnors', SAM, pics on the side bar even shows a red SS with black handles, my friend's 1998 had them as well)

A) Didnt the 96 have the same interrior as the 97s? I know a 96 had different interrior than my 95.

B) black handles wouldnt automatically mean its an LT1. It would just give a pretty good idea that it came from the LT1 era. My 95 3.4L had black handles.

No. 1997-2002 had the same interior (look at the dash hump).

K, I wasnt saying you were wrong... I just wasnt sure for myself.

This is kinda fun.. So whats your guess? If you had to make one. I'm going w/ a 97 w/ a 98-02 front clip for $4,999 Alex. Which will leave me w/ $1 FTW

I doubt it's a V6 since there's a big *** nitrous bottle sitting on the tranny hump in the back seat...

Definetly not a 1997... I don't forsee someone going through all that work and putting hazed headlights on the car.

I think it's a 2000 that was black w/factory GFX that were removed and it has been re-painted...

The car was obviously painted, THE ANTENNA WAS SHAVED, hugger orange (if that's what it is) cars did not come with black handles, the side molding is gone and the "red" tips everyone is complaining about is obvious overspray.

No attitude taken... Very well thought out. I too noticed the lack of side moldings, but found that bit of knowledge to be irrevelant in my decision. I also pondered why someone would put a front clip on a car and leave the smoked up headlights, then I decided that it was probably there to just complete the car as they were on a tight schedule and couldnt get it immaculate in such short time or budget. (yes, I put some thought into my decision)

Oh, and the reason I think it had factory GFX as opposed to someone just adding that spoiler is because the paint on the spoiler looks thick as hell (the lines of the spoiler aren't as distinguishable as normal) which makes me think the spoiler was left on during painting the car and it was sprayed heavy to cover the mulit-layered (spoiler on quarter panel) area.

That's a short-cut way of doing things but from the overspray on the tips and on the inside of the wheel (back passenger) you can see short cuts were taken...

Although, the paint looks very deep and lacking of orange peel so it's probably good paint work just lazy prep work.

Painting over moldings instead of removing them and leaving overspray are sure signs of a low-quality body shop or some home-grown painting skills.

Here's a quick and crappy photoshop of what I'd do if I got my hands on her

Body colored mirrors, door handle and key locks...
Charcoal painted spokes and cowl stripe w/silver pinstripe...

IMHO 17" wheels with a 45 series tire looks real nice like AND you dont have to worry about scraping...
