Best Metal Polish Ever!
Okay, this not something new, at least to me. But, I strayed from the fold for a while. I don't know if anyone here uses Wenol but I have used it for years. That is, until the local shops stopped carrying it. Then I started trying other products. I've tried Mothers paste and liquid, with and without the Powerball. I've tried Eagle One products and some others I've forgotten about. After using all those products, the wheels on my "daily-driven" SS still looked like this:
So, I found some Wenol online and ordered a new supply (Red & Blue). Yesterday I spent about ten minutes on each wheel with my "Red" Wenol and this is how they turned out:
I don't think I'll ever use anything else again… if I can help it.
Have any of you guys used Wenol before?

Wenol is made in Germany and imported, which is probably why it's hard to find. There are two "flavors" of Wenol. The "Red" Wenol is the stronger of the two. It's for heavier oxidation. It's a pinkish paste. The "Blue" Wenol is the "show" polish. It's a finer white paste. It gives you the mirror-like finish. Although, as you can see from the pics, the Red Wenol does excellent by itself. I bought a Red/Blue kit for $15.99 + S&H (5.95). I actually just Googled "Wenol" and ordered from that huge site that sells everything and sounds like a "jungle" or a "really tall woman."
This stuff will last a really long time because it takes very little to do the job. A dab about the size of a dime will do one of my rims and then some. And, it works on all metals. The first time I bought Wenol was at a car show in the early-mid nineties. They were doing demos and selling kits of Wenol and fleece rags (this was before microfiber cloths). Personally, I think the nap of the fleece rags works better with the "Red" Wenol for removing oxidation. I even tried it with the Powerball Mini and it works great. And now, I use MF cloths with the "Blue" Wenol for the finish-up. The "Blue" Wenol would be all you would need for Chrome. Believe me, it'll give you a lot better results than Windex. Results you'll actually see.

I'll try using the blue tube of wenol. Right now I use this Eagle product called Chrome Cleaner. Works ok, but I want mine to look brand spanking new. no dirt residue what so ever. Thanks for the info.

I agree that the Wenol works great. I have been using it for polishing for a while. But I just bought the new Mcguires aluminum and mag polish and it did a better job on my TT2's than anything i have used so far. Haven't used it on my stainless exhaust yet but I will let you how it works.

Has anyone ever used American Racing's products? They have a kit that has a polish and a "wheel wax" in it. I was about to try some of that stuff before I found more Wenol.
